The QNET sponsored Marussia F1 team are already into the year with the debut of their brand new race car, MR03.

Marussia joins Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Force India, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Williams and Caterham in Jerez, Spain for some pre-season testing of their new generation 1.6-litre turbo cars.

The new cars reflect the biggest set of rules changes in F1 history which should make for an exciting season.

Driver Max Chilton took the car out for just five laps on the first day. But according to Chief Engineer Dave Greenwood, this is good progress for a new technology loaded car.

“The five laps we have achieved today may seem scant reward. However, as has been seen up and down the pit lane over the past few days, the first day of testing with this very sophisticated level of technology has really been all about ensuring the systems are reliable and also to give the engineering teams initial track data and the necessary time to aid their understanding of the car. The laps we were able to complete were without issue, so we are pretty pleased with the start we have made to our testing programme,” says Dave.

QNET is excited to return as a major sponsor of the Marussia F1 Team in their latest pursuit of fame and fortune in the 2014 Formula One World Championship.

Good luck with preparations, team Marussia and we’ll see you in Aussie!
